Alcalá del Júcar

Costa Blanca inland north.

Alcalá del Júcar is a small village with approx. 1200 inhabitants, one of the most picturesque villages of Albacete (La Comunidad Castile-La Mancha). As its name suggests, it is located on the banks of the river Júcar. The city is known for its many caves, including Cueva’s Diablo (Devils).

In the town you find narrow streets that climb towards the Castle, small houses, steep stairs, little gardens and, of course, the typical caves, which make Alcalá del Júcar a unique architectural and natural setting. Other things to see are the San Andrés Church, the Fortress and the beautiful bridge from Roman times crossing the Júcar River that flows through the city.
