Sunny fire

On a stroll I can suddenly take a photo of something meaningless. This one is accompanied by some relaxed thoughts:

An experienced man with grey hair
he was sitting laid back in his chair
when sun was at high
one heard his warm sigh
Can you give me a cold one, my dear

His wife understood his desire
made a call to secretly hire
a man with a hose
Aim straight at his nose
He’ll no more complain sunny fire

The healthy clock

I have a clock also showing how many steps I go by day. Those who have made the clock have probably meant that it will have a health impact. I’m going to set goals for how many steps I should, or intend to (as a minimum) dive around every day, and maybe at noon I can check whether there can be a nap on the pillow or a walk.
But that’s a bit strange. At home in Norway, there are usually no question, always an afternoon rest and sometimes a walk. In Casa Slappava (my house in Torrevieja), on the other hand, I can go on a stroll just as it is. It may be before dinner one day, after dinner another day. And you believe me when I say that it may even take a few days between each time I take a Spanish walk. Instead, there may be a little swim. The downside is that the clock does not measure the number of swim ceilings neither in the pool nor in the salt water, and on these damp days, I therefore have exercised more than pedometer clock shows. A hidden Relaxation Bonus, ie.
Today, suddenly, the pedometer announced that I had achieved double goals. Something like that is both rare and strange. It has its explanation. Perhaps I’ll elaborate on it later on.

Santa Pola

It is some years since we last time visited Santa Pola. We found a good and big under ground parking garage, i.e. Parking de Castillo, the castle parking. Of course we had to visit the castle, and in the courtyard we found the entrance to a chapel and also to a museum. The museum, Museo del Mar, had two departments, an archeological and one for sea and fishing. They were both very interesting and informative. Indeed recommended.

We made a stroll in some of the streets. It is obvious that the old town is old. On our walk we found a nice «lagoon» which proved to be the Parque el Palmeral with palms of course and an excavated Roman Villa with mosaic floors.

Turning direction and walking to the harbour was a nice experience. The harbour front line looks relatively new giving the fishing and the tourist boats (frequenting Tabarca)  modern facilities. This is also the case with the facilities for the leisure boats.

Along a wide stroll path at the harbour front, we found a number of restaurants and cafés which in the warm time of year for sure is a dominant meeting place.

Not having seen all Santa Pola can offer, we for sure will make a later return.

Some information about Santa Pola also found on our Costa Blanca page.

Daya Vieja north of Torrevieja

Daya Vieja is a small town some minutes north of Torrevieja and also north of Rojales. There is a church and an interesting public watch tower in the central square.

Visit to Busot and Alcoy

I have put in a summary of a nice trip in the Costa Blanca inland, west and north of Alicante and Altea. The tour went to Busot, Jijona, Alcoy, Cocentaina, Alcala de la Jovada, Xalo and, at the coast, La Vila Joysa. We have seen Cuevas del Canelobre and visited Parc Natural de la Font Roja in addition to the small waterfall at Gorg del Salt. In Alcoy was celebrated Christianos and Morenos, and in Xalo we visited a wine bodega. Two nights were spent in the nice hotels Rural Masia La Mota and La Font d’Alcala. See my info. page here.
